Viability Kernel

The set of states from which a viable trajectory exists — i.e. from which the system can be kept inside a constraint envelope forever.

Viability is the dual of reachability. Where reachability asks “can we get there,” viability asks “can we stay here.” Both are essential for operational and strategic planning; ARIAA ships dedicated engines for each.
